Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a powerful treatment for a variety of conditions, including pain management, autoimmune disorders, and sports injuries, as well as helping recovery from strokes. By stimulating specific points in the body, it releases endorphins, improves blood and energy flow, and supports recovery from both acute and chronic pain. This approach also benefits mental and emotional health, helping to manage stress and anxiety by balancing energy flow within key organ systems. Additionally, acupuncture boosts general health by enhancing the body’s natural healing and immune functions, supporting everything from fertility to neurological recovery.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbs, available in capsules, powder, or liquid concentrates, are customized to address specific health issues, including autoimmune disorders, allergies, and oncology support. These herbal formulas are designed to work alone or alongside treatments like acupuncture and Tui Na, expediting the healing process for conditions related to internal medicine (gastrointestinal, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary systems). This tailored approach to herbal medicine strengthens the body’s resilience, aiming for holistic balance and faster recovery.

Chinese Energetic Medicine / Medical Qigong

Chinese Energetic Medicine, the foundation of Traditional Chinese Medicine, focuses on targeting root causes to aid in healing conditions such as mental and emotional disorders, neurological issues, and autoimmune disorders, as well as helping recovery from strokes. This practice includes both tailored energetic treatments and prescribed exercises that harmonize the body’s energy flow, enhancing physical, energetic, and spiritual health. It supports the body’s natural healing abilities, helping to address issues ranging from oncology support to fertility and libido concerns by restoring balance and resilience across all systems.

Tui Na / Bodywork

Tui Na, an ancient Chinese therapeutic bodywork, is highly effective for pain management, sports injury rehabilitation, and overall health. Using specific massage and manipulation techniques, Tui Na works to alleviate discomfort, promote circulation, and restore balance within the body. This therapy is especially beneficial for individuals managing chronic pain, neurological disorders, and internal health issues. Its principles have also influenced many modern massage therapies, underscoring its long-standing impact on wellness practices.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know About Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine

What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?2024-11-11T10:46:38+00:00

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is over 3,500 years old and one of the most widely practiced healing systems in the world. TCM believes that 20 pathways, called meridians, connect up to 2,000 acupuncture points across the body. These meridians conduct energy, or “qi” (pronounced “chi”), between the surface and internal organs. Qi is thought to regulate balance in the body, influenced by the opposing forces of yin and yang—representing positive and negative energies.

What is Acupuncture?2024-11-11T10:46:56+00:00

Acupuncture is a key treatment in TCM. It’s based on the belief that blockages or disturbances in the body’s energy flow, or “qi”, can cause health issues. Acupuncture helps restore balance between yin and yang, allowing the natural flow of “qi” to promote healing.

How Effective is Acupuncture?2024-11-11T10:47:32+00:00

Acupuncture is not a quick fix, but it can produce impressive results over time. Chronic conditions, especially those that have been ongoing for months or years, can’t be resolved in just a couple of sessions. Like weight training, acupuncture works cumulatively, and treatment duration varies for each patient.

What are the Signs Acupuncture is Working?2024-11-11T10:47:59+00:00

Common signs that acupuncture is working include improved overall health, less stress, better sleep and digestion, clearer focus, more energy, and a sense of calm.

Are the Needles Disposable?2024-11-11T11:10:14+00:00

Yes, all needles are disposable.

What Happens During the First Visit?2024-11-11T11:10:43+00:00

Your first visit helps determine if acupuncture is right for your condition. The acupuncturist will recommend a trial treatment plan and assess your progress. Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete paperwork. After an interview, your acupuncturist will create a treatment plan. Sterile needles are inserted, and you will rest for about 45 minutes before they’re removed. Afterward, take it easy for a couple of hours. Follow-up visits may be recommended.

Is Acupuncture Painful?2024-11-11T11:16:08+00:00

Unlike hypodermic needles, acupuncture needles are solid and hair-thin and not designed to cut the skin. They are also inserted to much more shallow levels than hypodermic needles, generally no more than a half-inch to an inch depending on the type of treatment being delivered, causing minimal pain for most people. Some feel relaxed, while others may experience a sensation of excitement. Acupuncture is a drug-free treatment with built-in safeguards, and when done correctly, it does not harm.

How Many Treatments Do I Need?2024-11-11T11:18:01+00:00

Results vary depending on the conditions being treated. Even after a few treatments, there is improvement in underlying conditions. As a general rule, 8-10 treatments are needed to see results in chronic conditions. A study by Brad W. showed that 85% of patients saw results, while 10% had mixed results.

How Often Do I Need to Be Treated?2024-11-11T11:19:13+00:00

Treatment frequency depends on your condition. As you improve, the time between visits will increase. There are three levels of care:
Acute Care: For short-term or flare-up conditions (e.g., sprained ankle, morning sickness). Treatment is more frequent, usually 2-3 times per week.
Transitional Care: Once symptoms improve, appointments are spaced out but not too far apart.
Maintenance Care: Preventive care to avoid imbalance or illness return. Maintenance might be monthly or every few months, depending on the individual.

Do You Offer Reduced Rate or Sliding Scale Appointments?2024-11-11T11:20:12+00:00

We offer reduced rates with package purchases, but sliding scale appointments are not available.

How our clients have found relief and renewed health through our personalised treatments.

I have been looking for an Acupuncturist since moving to the Atlanta area several years ago. I found Ahmad by attending a metaphysical event. His knowledge of the practice is impressive. I like that he educates you as he does the work. Results within the first session were fantastic!

Elizabeth Rouse

Ahmad is absolutely incredible. He is so genuine and professional and it’s easy to see, he truly loves what he does. Thank you so much!

Lisa Hook

I was skeptical at first, but my daughter convinced me to go, and I am amazed at what acupuncture can do. I went for back pain, and not only has that lessened, but it has also helped my stomach. I didn’t even know my stomach was a problem, but within two days after my first treatment, I felt less bloated and full. I will definitely be returning for additional treatments!

Sonya Mueller

Wanted to share how wonderful visiting here was, and how wonderful my visit with Ahmad was. He is calm, so calm, and it’s one of the things I noticed and felt. It was my first time having acupuncture, and his kindness and gentleness and patience went a long way in calming me and also made me want to learn how to be calm as well in everyday practice. Although I live way far from here, because of my experience, I would make the 1hr+ drive, it’s so worth it. Ahmad I don’t know if you read these, but thank you. Your gentle nature made an impact on myself and my Mom, and we pray God’s blessings you way. Thank you for being a part of my journey, in your gentle and kind and caring way. And bonus, it really didn’t hurt, even for a needle shy first-timer. A lot of words to say – thank you. We warmly appreciate you.

Ahmad’s knowledge is on another level. With each acupuncture and Tui Na session he provided thorough education & I could tell that he was very passionate about his work. It was so refreshing to be in the presence of someone who is serious about the mind, body, spirit connection for inner and outer peace. It is easy to skip the educational piece, which is common in Healthcare, however Ahmad was sure to provide additional insight even when I understood the energy work, etc. It is so important to work with a Healing Practitioner who has time (or at least doesn’t give off rushed energy 🙂 ). Peace is provided to others from those who have peace within. Ahmad is definitely a peaceful spirit, you will be blessed in receiving services from him. I definitely recommend!
